19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player won his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging year, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former coach Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I'm at a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on court had prompted observers to wonder if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better serve.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
